Introducing my crafty niece Lauren! |

Age: 8

Dislikes: Soccer
Be when you get older: Ballerina or Artist
What’s the best thing about your aunt: That she’s crafty! (love that girl!)
How I made the owl by Lauren
Step 1
I painted the whole canvas pink and let it dry.
Step 2
I drew the owl outline with light brown and then I painted the whole owl DARK brown. I tried the light brown and dark brown but it turned out that you could still see the pink so I had to go over it a couple times to make it so you would not see the pink. Then I let it dry.
Step 3
I did the eyes next on a piece of paper with a pencil. I drew two good size circles and cut the inside out. Then I held them where I wanted them on the canvas and painted the inside white and then let it dry. After they dried I took black and made a little circle black and then I took black again and went around the circle.
Step 4
I made a good size triangle and painted it orange.
Step 5
I took my pink paint brush and I put, “Owl always love you”. On the “love” I did block letters and painted the inside pink and at the bottom of the owl I put two little feet kind of like a birds feet.
Note from Lauren: I saw the idea on Pinterest (love it!) and drew it on a piece of paper as a draft first.
Supplies: large canvas, acrylic paints, brush assortment

I am so impressed and it’s not just because she’s related to me! I especially love her tutorial. She explained everything very clearly. Way to go Lauren! I can’t wait to see your next project!
