This has been my favorite Halloween Pumpkin Craft for years! Not only does it keep them busy with all of the torn paper, but it isn’t scary. This Halloween craft ranks right up there with my favorite Tie-Dyed Turkey. We’ve also made a Snow Globe Paper Craft using the same torn paper technique.
I don’t know about you but tearing paper into little bits can be slightly therapeutic. We tore and made piles before there was any actual gluing. I think this project took us/my son 2 sittings to complete. It just depends on how detailed and how much torn paper you’d like.
Supplies:
- 1 full sheet of black paper
- scraps of orange, blue, black, and brown (our brown stem is from a corrugated box)
- glue stick
- teddy bear (below) optional
1. Start by tearing long strips of paper and then tear off the ends. Make a nice pile of all your paper bits.
2. Make a glue circle and to lay out your pieces on the outline.
3. Fill everything in with your torn paper. Now add the details: pumpkin face, pumpkin stem, the sky, the grass.
4. Proudly display. I bet your torn paper pumpkin turned out fabulous.
