6. What not to visit? LEGOLAND Water Park
We braved the water park in July and it was overwhelming. Super hot, packed with people, and my kids waited in line 1 hour to go down a slide. It was hard to keep track of our children and our things. It was all sorts of crazy. I haven’t talked to anyone that has been there when it hasn’t been crowded, unless you hit a rare Southern California bad weather day.
If you wish, you can completely miss the water park. Your kids might not even notice it since it has an entrance at the back of the park.
7. Clothing Tips for Amusement Parks and LEGOLAND California
My friend, Miriam, used the smart amusement park trick of “everyone wear the same brightly colored shirt” (see picture). Not only is that smart, but employees liked their shirts and even gave them free trinkets to recognize their efforts! Would you like to make this shirt yourself? Click here. You can see Miriam’s super cool family in the photos below. They rocked their shirts!
Miriam also recommends that everyone wear zip off quick-drying pants for runs through water fountains and water rides. A great way to get wet, cool off, and dry fast. As an East Coast girl, I wan’t prepared for how intense the sun is in California. I wore this great cool black hat, my kids wore these wide brimmed hats, and we love these sandals for their tennis shoe like bottom and toe.
8. Sea Life Aquarium at LEGOLAND California
Sea Life Aquarium is located in the parking lot of LEGOLAND. The aquarium is great for a rainy day, hot weather, or just to relax. The interactive rock pool is engaging and the 35 foot aquarium tunnel is amazing. If you have visited other large aquariums, you’ll be able to get through this fairly quickly. You can easily add the aquarium pass to any ticket. We purchased a two day pass and opted to visit the aquarium before we started our second day.
9. What to do if it’s too hot or the weather is bad?
Not to worry! LEGOLAND X-Box Family area is a place to play all of the LEGO video games with special video kiosks. There is also LEGO Mindstorms where you can create robots. They require a reservation, so sign up early. Note: Only older children are allowed in the Mindstorms room, no younger siblings.
10. Saving Money at LEGOLAND California
We were leery of buying our tickets on-line, because plans change. We also didn’t want to wait in long lines at the gate. LEGOLAND Kids Go Free coupon from Amazon, click here, with a full paid adult ticket. Make sure you check into military discounts and other deals too.
Don’t forget to pack your own snacks and water. Share meals or get Kids Meals for everyone.
Thanks Kristen for sharing this information great post i will buy some Legoland tickets
