The most beautiful time of the year, Spring, deserves an amazing front door basket!  I’ve made several tulip wreathes, but this was my first time making a basket.  What was the most impressive part?  How fast it came together with the secret waterproof floral foam.  If you have extra pieces, check out our pool noodle sculptures.

Create a beautiful spring floral basket with waterproof foam.

It took me longer to find the floral supplies at the craft store (Michaels), than it did to make the spring basket.  I pursued Pinterest to figure out what color combinations I liked.  All of the spring stems were 50% off when I purchased them.

I randomly found the basket at the thrift store.  When I find them, I have to buy them (if they’re under $2).  I love these flush-back baskets so much.

Waterproof Foam

When making a front door Spring basket, figuring out how to anchor the flowers to the basket or wreath can be tricky.  Regular florist foam is made to absorb water.  This obviously won’t work for an uncovered front door.

What’s the secret?  Wait for it…. Pool Noodles!

If you cannot find pool noodles at the Dollar Store, you can get them here.

How to Make A Spring Bouquet Basket

Supplies:

Directions:

1.  Cut your pool noodles to fit inside the basket.  This doesn’t have to look perfect.  Just saw on the pool noodle with your knife.  Fill in all of the space.  Cut some of the noodles down the middle if you need to fill a small space.

2.  Add your flowers.  Just push them directly down into the noodle.  I found it best to not cut apart the back two rows.  I wasn’t sure it would hold up to wind or rain.  I did cut apart the front cream tulips.
