LEGO magnets are super simple to make yourself at home! We love our LEGO minifigure magnet that we purchased on our visit to LEGOLAND Florida. It inspired us to learn how to make a few more LEGO magnets of our own. These LEGO magnets are fun to have on your refrigerator or even to give as gifts!
How To Make A LEGO Fridge Magnet
Supplies:
- Rare Earth Magnets These magnets are very important and they are SUPER strong! Regular magnets from the craft store will not work.
**Rare Earth Magnets are not toys, they need to be kept away from the nose, mouth, ears, and pace-makers. If you’d like more safety information, click here.
Note: Someone asked if you can use magnetic tape to make a LEGO magnet. I have found it just doesn’t stick well enough. It will fall off of the plastic and your child will try to pile on tons of LEGOs too! Make it once, correctly, and you’ll have no problems.
- E-6000 glue – You will need this type of industrial strength glue. The magnets are so strong they will literally jump out of the glue. Trust me. You can purchase it at most craft stores (with a coupon).
- Flat LEGO pieces (whatever pieces your child is willing to give up) or you can purchase the size you’d like here.
Directions:
Nothing too complicated, just glue the magnet on the back and leave it until dry.
The hardest part is waiting 24 hours for the glue to set.
The magnets need to be several inches away from one another while drying. They are so strong, that they can jump out of the glue to attach to another one.
